Hi tygriffin, Bob--yep, isn't it cool? I love the girl with her 50s ponytail and skirt piloting her saucer back there. The design, font, everything--just terrific. Too bad about the ride--apparently it didn't function enough of the time to keep it open for very long--actually floating around on compressed air?! Wow. I don't think there's anyone being terribly clever with new rides any more--maybe Imagineering will rise again, though--soon. : )
I took lame photos of old posters and my family rolled their eyes. there exists a green and blue hued version also. inspired by sci fi and pulp it seems!

ReplyDeleteIncidentally, this is the only Disneyland attraction poster to be designed and drawn by Rolly Crump. I wish he had done more of them!
